PORT ANGELES — Supporters of a “Dream Playground” at Erickson Park are gearing up for final fund-raising activities and looking for a more volunteers to help build it in a five-day stretch.
Going into the Labor Day weekend, fund-raising efforts had raised more than $104,000 of the $135,000 in donations and donated materials needed to build the playground beginning Sept. 11.
More than 900 volunteers have stepped forward to help with the Sept. 11-15 construction process, and at least 100 more are needed, playground organizers said.
