A land swap vital to the Port Angeles hotel and conference center project will be considered by the state Board of Natural Resources during a 9 a.m. meeting Friday in Olympia.
The agenda includes a public comment period during which project opponents have indicated they would likely speak against the project.
However, they may not get that opportunity, since Natural Resources already held a public hearing on the issue June 27 in Port Angeles, according to Port of Port Angeles Executive Director Clyde Boddy.
“Friday’s meeting is the board meeting,” Boddy said Wednesday. “The public hearing was here in Port Angeles.”
During Friday’s meeting, Natural Resources staff will make a presentation to the board on the proposed property exchange, he said.
The Natural Resources Board is considering whether to swap a 15,600-square-foot parcel with the Port of Port Angeles to provide a suitable building site for the proposed Oak Street hotel and conference center.
