PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Community Players will hold tryouts for its upcoming production of “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol” at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) and 4 p.m. Saturday.
The auditions will be held at the Port Angeles Community Playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
The play, written by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jr. with parts by Charles Dickens, is a British farce.
Parts being cast include:
- Mrs. Reece, an elegant, bossy 50- to 60-year-old woman who runs the show.
- Thelma, a quick-tempered prima donna in her 40s to 50s.
- Gordon, a long-suffering stage manager and stilted actor, age immaterial.
- Felicity, a nervous, well-meaning but incompetent actress in her late 20s to 30s.
- Mercedes, physically challenged yet dogged, not young woman.
A pianist also is needed, as well as people to work back stage, in set construction, lighting, sound, dressers to help with costume changes and many other tasks.
The production will be staged from Friday, Dec. 6, through Sunday, Dec. 22.
