PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County jail has been cleaned up after two days of sewage backups.
Acting Undersheriff Margaret Farmer said Tuesday that authorities are investigating at least two incidents where inmates allegedly flushed items down toilets causing backups.
At least one inmate could face a malicious mischief charge for his role in the incidents, Farmer said.
“It’s an ongoing investigation,” she said, estimating damage at $300.
Four inmates had to be moved from their cells because of the sewage, Farmer said.
