PORT ANGELES — No, the landfill isn’t closing Saturday.
That won’t happen until sometime late this year.
The only changes city residents will see beginning Saturday, as Waste Connections of Washington begins its contract with the city, are new recycling and yard waste carts and every other week garbage collection — if they signed up for those options — and higher monthly garbage rates.
“As of today, we’re done with recycling and yard waste and commercial recycling,” said Terry Bickle district manager for Waste Management.
“We want to thank all the residents for cards for service of the last 11 years. Waste Management enjoyed serving Port Angeles residents,” he said.
