PORT ANGELES — The third of three City Hall committees reviewing a proposed hotel and conference center development for the downtown waterfront meets this week.
The first two already have delayed submitting their recommendations to the City Council, citing a need for more information from developer Randal Jay Ehm.
The third, the Downtown Forward Executive Committee, will consider the proposed waterfront project on Oak Street during a 7:30 a.m. meeting today at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The Conference Center Review Committee, Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and Downtown Forward Executive Committee will recommendations to the City Council about whether to award Ehm a 20-year, $100,000 annual bed tax subsidy.
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee delayed making a recommendation Thursday after a 90-minute discussion that ended with asking Ehm for more information.
That committee will meet again May 16.
The Conference Center Review Committee also delayed a recommendation following its April 11 meeting.
That group will meet again Tuesday to review an independent analysis of the proposed marketing and business plans for the conference center.
Those committees aren’t expected to forward their recommendations to the City Council until at least the council’s May 21 meeting.
