PORT ANGELES — A proposed revision of the city’s public nuisance ordinance also will include a code enforcement officer, said City Manager Mike Quinn.
He said he didn’t know exactly when the proposed ordinance would come before the council or when the official would be hired, Quinn said.
But Quinn said he doesn’t want to have a law the city can’t enforce.
Quinn gave the City Council an update on the year-old project during its annual retreat Friday at City Hall.
During a discussion of the community livability section of the city’s 2005 work plan, City Councilman Larry Williams said most of the city’s code enforcement is complaint-driven.
But maybe the city has reached the size where it needs a specific code enforcement officer, Williams said.
