PORT ANGELES — An afternoon Art Club and Drama Club, both for children ages 6 to 12, are open to new sign-ups at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., with the first new session to start next week.
Art Club, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday from March 3-31, gives children a chance to explore painting and color theory, drawing and perspective, ceramics and sculpture, printmaking and even plein air — outdoor — painting.
April Watkins is the teaching artist, and the fee for the five-Tuesday club is $75.
Drama Club, led by teachers Sarah Tucker and Anna Andersen, meets from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays from March 4-25.
These afternoons will have students playing theater games, engaging in creative dance, vocal play and improvisational exercises, all to bring out the natural actors within.
Parents take note: Shy children are especially welcome.
The Drama Club cost is $60 for four weeks, and as with Art Club, parents can register their children at the Vern Burton Community Center weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
For more details, contact the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, the sponsor of both clubs, at 360-457-3532 or visit www.PAFAC.org.
