Kathy Anita Gonzales has dropped out of the three-way primary election race for Port Angeles School Board Position No. 1.
Gonzales said Monday that she withdrew for personal reasons.
Because ballots have already been printed, Gonzeles — and Tricia Smith Barrett, who withdrew earlier from the race for Port Angeles City Council Position 2 — will still appear on the ballot.
Ballots in the all-mail Sept. 16 primary will be mailed to voters Wednesday.
Pete Peterson, Clallam County Juvenile and Family Services director, and Charlie McClain, the incumbent, remain in the race.
They will now automatically advance to the Nov. 4 general election regardless of who polls more votes in the primary.
