Port Angeles: Airline task force seeking feedback on Sea-Tac proposal

PORT ANGELES — The Community Airline Task Force continues seeking user feedback on Kenmore Air Express’ proposal for direct service to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

“There’s no definitive answers yet about Kenmore Air’s proposal,” task force chairman Russ Veenema said.

“We are still researching.”

Veenema said the task force also is asking consultant Mead & Hunt of Eugene, Ore. what kind of contract the company would need to help the task force establish a “travel bank” for the Sea-Tac service.

The task force has a meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. to discuss Kenmore Air Express’ proposal and the proposed “travel bank” to help support it.

Tim Brooks, director of flight operations for Kenmore Air, said Monday there was nothing new on the company’s proposal to provide direct passenger service from William R. Fairchild International Airport in Port Angeles to Sea-Tac.

“We’re continuing to gauge the level of support. The task force committee has to review their options for support — that’s not changed,” he said.
