PORT ANGELES — The Community Airline Task Force is preparing a “full-blown survey” to gauge the level of community interest and commitment to re-establishing direct service to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
“We want to find out what the community wants and what they are willing to pay for Sea-Tac access,” said task force chairman Russ Veenema.
The survey also will include when people would prefer to have flights and how often, Veenema said.
William R. Fairchild International Airport has been without direct passenger service to Sea-Tac since Horizon Air left Jan. 6, citing low ridership and $1.5 million in annual losses.
Renton-based San Juan Airlines began offering regular passenger service to Seattle’s Boeing Field with a free ground shuttle to Sea-Tac on Jan. 7.
Kenmore Air Express, a division of Seattle-based Kenmore Air, began offering similar service to Boeing Field in June.
