PORT ANGELES — Most swimmers at the William Shore Memorial Pool will pay a little more in 2003, but youths and senior citizens who buy quarterly or annual passes will pay the same as in 2002.
Meanwhile, property owners seeking building permits will pay a little more in 2003, but athletic field users were spared paying a field maintenance fee in the new budget.
The City Council on Monday night unanimously approved a $68.28 million budget for next year, including a $13.1 million general fund, $42.3 million for three enterprise funds, $4.75 million in special revenue funds and $2.5 million in capital projects.
The budget calls for a 1.85 percent tax increase over 2002. It includes the 1 percent property tax limitation plus new construction assessments.
A motion to keep the cost of three-month and annual passes for youths and seniors at the same levels as in 2002 passed 6-1, with Councilwoman Lauren Erickson casting the dissenting vote
