PORT ANGELES — Police are seeking a Port Angeles man they say was involved in an assault and burglary in which another man was struck several times with a wooden bat and shocked with a stun gun.

Brian Smith, Port Angeles deputy police chief, said police have probable cause to arrest Tyler James Wickersham, 22.

Wickersham stands 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 180 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair, Smith said.

Police ask anyone who sees Wickersham or knows his whereabouts to phone 360-452-4545 or 9-1-1.

Police say Wickersham and Nathan Wayne Terry, 25, also of Port Angeles, allegedly forced their way into a home in the 200 block of 14th Street at about 6:30 p.m. last Saturday and assaulted Justen Defrang.

Another man, Robert Shinn, told police he was at the home when Terry and a man later identified as Wickersham arrived.

The two forced their way past the man after he opened the door, with Terry holding a large fixed-blade knife and saying “I’ll kill you,” police said.

Shinn told police he did not invite either of the two men inside.

Wickersham then walked to the back of the home to Defrang, police said.

Defrang told police he was hit with a small wooden bat multiple times by a man he later identified to them as Wickersham.

He suffered several welts, a head laceration and possibly a broken arm.

Defrang also said Wickersham used a stun gun on him.

Officers arrested Terry at a home off Mount Pleasant Road at about 9 p.m. Sunday.

On Wednesday, Terry pleaded not guilty to one count each of first-degree burglary with a deadly weapon, second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and harassment-threats to kill with a deadly weapon, according to Clallam County Superior Court documents.

Terry, who remained in the county jail Thursday on $100,000 bail, faces a Sept. 22 trial and is due in court Aug. 28 for a status hearing.
