PORT ANGELES — A Hamilton Elementary School student walking home from school Tuesday reported that two men in a green car approached him asking if he wanted a ride, said Tina Smith-O’Hara, Port Angeles School District spokeswoman.
The student was walking home on Seamount Drive about two blocks from school when he was approached, she said.
“The student ran home and is safe now,” she said, adding she couldn’t comment any further.
The district alerted parents via automated phone calls and emails about the incident.
Parents received similar notifications less than a month ago when a 9-year-old Roosevelt Elementary School student reported a stranger who told her to get into his truck.
“What appears happened is someone offered to give a student a ride,” said Sgt. Jason Viada, adding that the Port Angeles Police Department responded.
