PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles police have arrested John Greystoke, 49, as part of an investigation into a stabbing Sunday.
Greystoke has been booked into the Clallam County Jail on investigation of assault in the first degree — domestic violence.
Police said in a news release that officers responded to a report of an assault with a knife in the 800 block of South C Street.
The unnamed victim identified his assailant as Greystoke. He alleged that Greystoke stabbed him in the abdomen and had fled.
A knife was located near the scene of the incident.
The victim, a 40-year-old man, sustained an eviscerated laceration to the abdomen; Port Angeles Fire Department personnel transported him to Olympic Medical Center.
Dispatchers reported that they received a call from residents in the 100 block of West Second Street. They advised that a man matching Greystoke’s description was in the area and that he said he had stabbed someone.
Officers responded to the scene and took Greystoke into custody without incident.
