LAKE FOREST PARK — The man accused of firing gunshots into a crowd outside Port Angeles’ New Peking China Restaurant in a Sunday morning melee was arrested by Lake Forest Park police Monday.
Donald Joseph Turner, 35, was arrested on investigation of first-degree assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the incident at 2614 E. U.S. Highway 101, east of Port Angeles.
No one was hit by the bullets from the semiautomatic weapon, Clallam County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Lyman Moores said.
Witness’ report
One witness told investigators that he was shot at four times.
Police in Lake Forest Park, about 10 miles northwest of Seattle, acted on probable cause established by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses say the shooting occurred during a brawl outside the nightspot near closing time.
Several calls to 9-1-1 were placed around 1:45 a.m.
After the shooting, witnesses said the assailant got into a vehicle and left the scene.
Clallam County sheriff’s investigators were in pursuit of Turner on Sunday but declined to name him.
An investigation is ongoing.
