PORT TOWNSEND — Ten poets will come together Wednesday at the Northwind Arts Center, 2409 Jefferson St., to give a free reading.
The 10 will come from the Centrum Port Townsend Writers’ Conference under way this week. They will share their poems starting at 7 p.m.; admission is free.
The Port Townsend Writers’ Conference is “a hotbed for emerging writers,” said Jordan Hartt, Centrum’s program manager for literature.
“These are the poets, fiction writers and essayists who are just beginning to add their voices to our vital cultural conversations. Writers come from all over the world — from London, Lagos, the Philippines — to immerse themselves in this conference.”
The poets “come to Northwind with their voices honed to a fever pitch,” added Hartt
Northwind readings are free, though donations are accepted to support the arts center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting the community with art.
