PORT ANGELES — Ordez Eugene Kompkoff, a Port Angeles man charged after a police standoff in January, entered not-guilty pleas to new charges Friday.
Kompkoff pleaded not guilty to single counts of first-degree robbery and second-degree assault in a brief court hearing.
The 21-year-old is accused of assaulting and robbing a fellow Clallam County jail inmate of food and personal effects Feb. 7 and Feb. 10.
The alleged victim suffered a broken nose and had numerous cuts and bumps on his face and body, according to the affidavit for probable cause.
Clallam County Superior Court Judge Christopher Melly set an April 25 trial and a status hearing for March 25.
Kompkoff was previously charged with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, first-degree escape, heroin possession and two counts of harassment-threats to kill for his role in a Jan. 26 standoff at the Salt Creek RV Park.
Clallam County sheriff’s deputies allege that Kompkoff held a man hostage at gunpoint inside a residence and threatened to shoot law enforcement officers, according to the arrest report.
Kompkoff is awaiting a March 28 trial on charges for the standoff. He is being held without bond.
A status hearing for that case was continued until next Friday because the defense is waiting for confirmation of a psychiatric evaluation.
Kompkoff is being represented in both cases by Port Angeles attorney Karen Unger.
