PORT TOWNSEND — The Pipia Sisters, two Port Townsend-bred performers, are planning a children’s theater camp, a Port Townsend show and a trip to the St. Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival this June, so they need to raise some money and the clock is ticking.
So Phina and Sophie Pipia, founders of the theater company they call Generation Goat Rocket, have embarked on a Kickstarter.com campaign with its own brand of entertainment.
Contributors, depending on donation amount, can receive Generation Goat Rocket buttons, stickers and T-shirts — or an original Pipia Sisters song, written and recorded just for the supporter.
A house concert by the sisters is yet another option for the especially generous donor.
The campaign target is $2,500, a sum that must be raised, according to Kickstarter’s framework, by April 8.
Phina and Sophie are known to Port Townsend audiences for their hometown shows — seven of them since 2009 — and for their work with local youngsters.
Their goal now, according to the Pipia Sisters’ news release, is to present their original work internationally, while continuing to offer accessible theater here in Port Townsend, where they grew up.
