CLALLAM BAY — A 31-year-old Port Angeles man suffered minor injuries when the 1986 Toyota pickup he was driving crossed the centerline and collided with a 1996 Kenworth log truck on state Highway 112 about a quarter mile east of the intersection with state Highway 113 near Clallam Bay on Monday, the State Patrol said.
Jason Ulrich was treated for facial lacerations and bumps and bruises at Forks Community Hospital after the 7:47 a.m. wreck, said Trooper Krista Hedstrom, State Patrol spokeswoman.
The driver of the log truck, Victor Whitehead, 55, of Forks, was not injured, she said.
The state Department of Transportation closed the road to nonlocal traffic between 8:50 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. while the log truck was being unloaded, Hedstrom said.
Ulrich was cited for failing to negotiate a curve, she said.
Both men were wearing their seat belts. The State Patrol said drugs or alcohol were not involved.
