Monday’s holiday celebrating Labor Day will provide a three-day weekend for many North Olympic Peninsula workers.
* Government: All Washington State offices, Clallam and Jefferson county offices, and city halls in Port Angeles, Port Townsend and Forks will be closed.
All state run liquor stores will be closed for Labor Day.
There will be only express mail delivery Monday.
Drivers licensing offices will be closed Saturday through Monday in recognition of Labor Day.
* Garbage: Pickup is not affected by the holiday. Pickup schedules will remain the same for Port Angeles customers, and for those of Murrey’s Olympic Disposal and of West Waste and Recycling.
* Buses: There will be no bus service with Clallam Transit and Jefferson Transit on Monday.
* Libraries: North Olympic libraries will be closed Monday and Port Townsend Library and Jefferson County Library will be closed Saturday through Monday, with Port Townsend also on short hours Friday, Sept. 5, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
* Senior centers: Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Townsend Senior Centers will be closed Monday.
* Pools: William Shore Memorial Pool in Port Angeles and the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center will be closed Monday.
* Ferries: Ferry runs between Port Angeles and Victoria, between Port Townsend and Keystone and those between Bainbridge and Seattle will not change.
The Bremerton-Seattle ferry will operate on a holiday schedule Monday; adding a Bremerton to Seattle trip at 8:50 p.m. and a Seattle to Bremerton trip at 10 p.m. and dropping the Bremerton to Seattle trip at 5:15 a.m. and the Seattle to Bremerton at 6:30 a.m.
* PUDs: Public Utility District offices in Port Angeles, Port Hadlock and Forks will all be closed Monday, as will banks.
* Tourist activities: Port Angeles, Port Townsend and Sequim Visitor Centers and the Olympic National Park visitor center will be open on Labor Day. The Visitor Center at the Forks Chamber of Commerce will be closed.
The offices of the Peninsula Daily News will be closed for general business on Monday. The newsroom will be accessible by phone in the afternoon and evening hours.
