OK, 2010 seems like a l-o-n-g time from now.
But tourism officials in the land of the Olympics — Mountains — are excited about the big party they’re going to throw in Vancouver that year: the Winter Olympics.
They’re already planning how to market the North Olympic Peninsula to the event’s visitors.
“As soon as the announcement was made Wednesday, all the tourism bureaus were gathering together to identify how best to package this and work together with Vancouver,” Port Townsend Marketing Director Nancy Borino said Thursday afternoon.
One market to target is excursions and other organized groups from Victoria and Vancouver looking for places to visit, Borino said.
