PORT TOWNSEND — There will be a Hurricane Katrina Relief benefit concert at noon Monday at Fort Worden State Park’s McCurdy Pavilion.
The concert is scheduled to last until 8 p.m.
Organizers have compiled a program with more than 20 acts featuring jugglers and musical performers.
Local businesses have donated items. Fort Worden administration is helping set up a beer garden.
Proceeds from the benefit will be spent on relief efforts, organizers said.

U.S. Bank relief fund
U.S. Bank has established a Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund for people who want to contribute to efforts in the aftermath of the disaster affecting the Gulf Coast states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
Contributions can be made at any of U.S. Bank’s 2,383 locations.
On the Peninsula, U.S. Bank has branches at:

* 101 W. Washington St., Seqium.
* 14890 Center Road, Quilcene.
QFC donations
Quality Food Center stores are accepting donations from customers through September to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Beginning this week, customers donations will be accepted at QFC stores and monies collected will be forwarded to the American Red Cross for relief efforts tied to the hurricane that hit the Gulf Coast last weekend.
On the Peninsula, there are three QFC stores:
* 990 E. Washington St., Sequim.
* 1890 Irondale Road, Port Hadlock.
* 515 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
QFC is a division of The Kroger Co., one of the nation’s largest retail grocery chains.
Coordination meeting
A group of concerned residents are conducting a local relief coordination meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Port Townsend Community Center, at the corner of Lawrence and Tyler streets.
American Red Cross representatives are scheduled to attend.
“We are trying to coordinate efforts in the community here,” said meeting organizer Jordan Smith.
“We are trying to reach people down there who need shelter, who need transportation.”
Smith partnered with another Port Townsend resident, Erin McNamara, in organizing a disaster response effort in Jefferson County.
They have asked residents to donate money to organizations like the American Red Cross, offer shelter and donate supplies for a biodiesel bus expedition planned soon.

Gottschalks aid effort
Gottschalks announced Friday that the company will donate 10 percent of all sales on Sunday, up to $100,000, to the American Red Cross in an effort to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Gottschalks is a regional department store chain with a store at 200 W. First St., Port Angeles.
Artist’s relief effort
Port Angeles artist Ed Morales will donate 30 percent of his proceeds from sales of his artwork during September to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
Morales, who paints under the name “De Selarom,” has paintings for sale at Wesley’s Fine Arts, 106 N. Laurel St., and the Clallam County Art Gallery in The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave.
“I want to start a movement,” he said.
Morales will donate the money to the Katrina Relief Fund under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Marine Bank fund
A bank account has been established at American Marine Bank by the Red Cross under the name of “Gulf Coast Relief” for the purpose of Hurricane Katrina relief.
Funds collected in the account are tax deductible and will go directly to the American Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.
The Red Cross is operating more than 250 shelters across seven states, providing a safe haven for almost 42,000 evacuees — many whom have been left homeless by Katrina.
Those who would like to contribute to the fund are encouraged to make checks payable to “American Red Cross” and mail to American Marine Bank, Attn: Gulf Coast Relief, P.O. Box 10788, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110.
Donations are also accepted at all American Marine Bank offices. Locally, they are located at 110 E. Third St., Port Angeles; 9500 Oak Bay Road, Port Ludlow; 442 Sims Way, Port Townsend; and 680 W. Washington St., Sequim.
