No sooner will people make it past Monday’s federal income tax deadline than they can start dreading May Day.
May 1 is when the first half of 2006 property taxes are due at the Clallam and Jefferson county treasurers’ offices.
Treasurers Judith Scott of Clallam County and Judi Morris of Jefferson County say taxpayers will have an extra 24 hours this year to remit their payments by cash, check, money order or credit card.
That’s because the usual deadline of April 30 will fall on Sunday.
People from Neah Bay to Port Ludlow can pay in person, at a drop box, by mail, over the phone or on the Internet.
