Employment figures for Washington state released Tuesday showed a stronger job market on the North Olympic Peninsula.
According to state Employment Security Department statistics, unemployment in Clallam County declined to 6.7 percent during May.
The statistics show the jobless rate has consistently declined since February’s 9.3 percent. Clallam County logged a jobless rate of 8.5 percent in march and 7.1 percent in April.
In Jefferson County, the jobless rate dropped to 5.2 percent, below the state unemployment rate of 5.3 percent. Jefferson County’s jobless rate declined from 7.0 percent in February to 6.1 percent in March to 5.7 percent in April.
