IT IS WITH great excitement that we thank everyone who contributed to the Peninsula Home Fund — and we would like to congratulate everyone on the most successful Home Fund Drive to date.
It is very powerful to see Peninsula Daily News readers respond to serving the needs of families within our own community with such conviction.
The result of this is an organic safety net that is in place to help families on the North Olympic Peninsula maintain or achieve greater self-sufficiency by accessing the Home Fund during their time of need.
If 2012 was any indication of what needs we can expect in 2013, we are preparing to serve the greatest number of families with rental assistance, utility assistance and transportation needs.
Helping others succeed
While these three categories serve the most families each year, there are many other services provided that help families become successful such as minor home repair, work clothing for someone newly employed or assistance with an emergency medical procedure.
If not for the generosity of Home Fund donors, we would see thousands of people across Clallam and Jefferson counties with unmet needs and without the opportunity to move from crisis to stability and on to thrive.
As with all of the programs we administer, we take our responsibility of administering the Home Fund very seriously.
During the last half of 2012, we worked with staff members across the organization representing all of Clallam and Jefferson counties to review Home Fund guidelines and procedures to confirm we are able to respond quickly to those in need and that we are serving those with the greatest need.
We are prepared to serve those in need in our Forks, Port Angeles and Port Townsend offices.
We have been serving in Clallam and Jefferson counties for nearly 50 years now and are honored to have the communities’ support and trust in what we do.
Thank you to all Home Fund donors for overwhelmingly showing your support for families in our community.
It is only with your support that we have the opportunity to create change and strengthen our community.
