Peninsula Home Fund grants open for applications

Nonprofits can apply online until May 31

PORT ANGELES — Olympic View Community Foundation has opened grant applications through the Peninsula Home Fund, a vital resource dedicated to supporting individuals and families in Clallam and Jefferson counties.

The foundation (OVCF) is seeking proposals from nonprofit organizations with established service programs to distribute funds effectively and make a meaningful community impact.

“The Peninsula Home Fund exemplifies the compassion and resilience of our community,” said Jessica Elliott, executive director of OVCF. “By partnering with local nonprofits, we can ensure that these resources reach individuals and families who need them most, empowering them to overcome challenges and regain stability.”

Nonprofits serving Clallam and Jefferson counties are encouraged to apply if their programs address transportation costs, work-related expenses, housing assistance, basic necessities or urgent healthcare needs.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) and application guidelines are available on the OVCF website at https://ov-cf.org/phf-grantmaking. Applications must be submitted via email to grants@ov-cf.org by midnight on May 31.

Grant awards will be announced on July 3, and selected organizations will distribute funds through their programs to directly support community members in need.

Selected organizations will be required to submit grant reports in the fall.

Since Peninsula Daily News established the Peninsula Home Fund in 1989, it has raised more than $4.93 million to provide a “hand up, not a handout” to those in need.

In the past, donations had been directed to Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP). Now the fund is being managed by OVCF, which will partner with local nonprofit organizations that have existing programs and vetting systems in place and can use their established expertise to efficiently allocate funds to where they’re most needed.

OVCF connects people who care with causes that matter, fostering sustainable solutions and positive change throughout the Olympic Peninsula. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, OVCF is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals and families in Clallam and Jefferson counties through collaboration and community empowerment.
