Republicans caucus in Clallam and Jefferson counties tonight, drawn by President Bush’s campaign and the possibility that delegates will nominate finalists for governor and other partisan offices this summer.
Clallam caucus meetings convene at 7:30 p.m. in Sequim, Bell Hill, Port Angeles and Forks. Precinct lists can be found at the Web site www.olypen.com/clallgop.
Jefferson caucus meetings convene at 7:40 p.m. in Port Tonwsend, Port Hadlock, Quilcene, Nordland and Port Ludlow. Precinct lists can be found at the Web site www.jeffco-gop.org.
Party caucuses statewide begin the process of electing 41 delegates and 38 alternates to the party’s national convention in New York City. If the Legislature approves a “Top 2” primary to replace the state’s blanket primary, delegates elected tonight will be reconvened to nominate GOP legislative candidates, including governor.
