PORT ANGELES — They may not get turkey and all the fixings all the time, but everyday is Thanksgiving for two Peninsula College sophomores from Kosovo.
“There are no words to express how very blessed I feel,” Jetmir Bakija said this week.
Bakija and friend, Leart Zherka, are spending their third Thanksgiving in the United States after growing up together in Gjakova, a city of about 60,000 in the heart of war-torn Kosovo.
They hope to spend a few more Thanksgivings here before returning to their native land to share the knowledge they gain.
