Clallam County Elections will mark National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday with vote pins and stickers for all who register to vote at the Auditor’s Office in the Clallam County Courthouse.
The auditor’s office is at 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Jefferson County Elections will not participate in the one-day drive, said Betty Johnson election coordinator.
Instead the Jefferson County Auditor’s Office, which is at the courthouse at 1820 Jefferson St., does several things throughout the year to prompt voter registration, she said.
Among the efforts: Adding voter registration forms to marriage license packets for name change, provide real estate agents with voter registration forms to give to new homeowners, provide voter registration forms and election information to more than 30 locations throughout the county, send voter registration forms to all high schools for their senior classes.
Several voter registration deadlines are approaching for those looking to cast a ballot in the Nov. 6 general election.
Residents have until Oct. 8 to register by mail or online, transfer their voter registration from another Washington county, or update their current registration.
Registered voters who have changed residences, added or eliminated a separate mailing address, or changed their name since the last time they voted are encouraged to update their voter registration.

Only new Washington state voters, including those turning 18 on or by Election Day, have until Oct. 29 to register in person at auditor’s offices.
Ballots for the 2018 general election will be mailed to all registered voters on the North Olympic Peninsula on Oct. 17.
