Peninsula College announces Associated Student Council leadership

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College Associated Student Council leadership has been selected for 2022-2023.

“We had 20 total candidates interview for 11 positions, and they were all so good, we decided to bring on 12 of them,” said Rick Ross, associate dean for Athletics & Student Life.

Isaiah Penniston-John of Las Vegas will be Peninsula’s 62nd ASC president, joined by vice presidents Don Devos of Germany and Hedvig Persson of Sweden.

The directors and programmers will include Nathan Barber, Rachel Cooper and Lakem Folsom, all of Port Angeles; Lauren La Fountain of Reno, Nev.; Minnie Lee of China; Jem Ndja of England; Aiden Olmstead of Bremerton; Mya Raunig of Vancouver, Wash.; and Gabe Tinsley of Bonney Lake.

The three executive officers each will earn a scholarship valued at $5,000. The other nine members will receive scholarships totaling approximately $2,500.

The 12 student leaders will conduct a planning meeting May 19 and begin their training and term of service in September. All 12 members were selected by student-led interview committees as outlined in the ASC Constitution and bylaws.
