Staffing changes in the news offices in Port Townsend and Sequim take effect this week.
Stuart Elliott was named chief Port Townsend-Jefferson County correspondent by PDN Executive Editor Rex Wilson. Elliott has been assigned to the Port Townsend news office at 922 Washington St. for a year, and has staffed the Sequim news office at 510 W. Washington St. on a part-time basis since last summer.
Elliott, who lives in Port Townsend, replaces Philip L. Watness, who resigned to assume a reporting-edition position with the weekly Leader.
Former Sequim Gazette Editor Jim Manders has been named chief correspondent in the PDN’s Sequim office, Wilson also announced.
Manders, a Sequim resident, returns to the daily newspaper, having been a staff writer for its predecessor, the Port Angeles Evening News, in the late 1960s.
