Peninsula: Calendars online for district courts

A new state Web site aims to put county district court dates at users’ fingertips by entering a name or case number.

The site is a new resource for Clallam County, but court calendar information for Jefferson County has been available online for about a year.

The Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts announced Wednesday that its new Web site allows attorneys and people with pending cases to find their upcoming court dates in county district courts.

When the site is up, people with cases in Clallam County District Court can check the dates of their appearances online, rather than call or visit the court clerk’s office.

“It would sure save a lot of phone calls because we get a lot of inquiries,” Clallam County District Court Administrator Steve Brown said Wednesday.

The site, at www.courts.wa.gov/calendars, would not access information for Clallam County District Court on Wednesday.

Jefferson County District Court has posted its calendars online for about a year, Senior Court Clerk Erin Kennedy said Wednesday.

That information is available from the county’s Web site at www.co.jefferson.wa.us.
