The frigid nighttime temperatures that have blanketed the North Olympic Peninsula this week will continue through the weekend.
Except for the possibility of some morning fog on Sunday and Monday, sunny skies and high temperatures in the 40s and low 50s will continue into the middle of next week, the National Weather Service forecast Thursday.
The Weather Service said strong upper-level ridge over the region is responsible for the clear skies, cold nights — and no rain through at least Tuesday.
Port Angeles will dip to 26 and 27 degrees tonight and Saturday night, respectively. Sequim lows will be 29 and 32 on those two nights, Quilcene will be 26 and 29, Clallam Bay-Sekiu-Neah Bay will be 23 and 29, and Port Townsend will be the warmest at 32 and 34 degrees, the Weather Service predicted.
