BLYN — A pedestrian reportedly walking in the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 101 on Friday night was struck by a 1988 Volkswagen van and hospitalized in Seattle.
The State Patrol identified the pedestrian as Sine L. Tveit, 46, of Sequim. Troopers said drugs or alcohol might have been involved.
She was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with undisclosed injuries.
The driver of the eastbound van, Thomas A. Stammer, 68, of Port Townsend, was not cited and the State Patrol said no charges are pending.
The incident occurred about 9:20 p.m. where Highway 101 intersects with Blyn Road about four miles east of Sequim.
