PORT ANGELES — If you have noticed something a little different about the Peninsula Daily News, you are right.
We are expanding space for news coverage in both Clallam and Jefferson counties.
The Peninsula Daily News is the latest iteration of a newspaper that has been published in Clallam County for more than a century. It has covered news in both Clallam and Jefferson counties for decades.
Each day, we have put out two editions of the daily newspaper. While much of the news is of interest across the two counties, the two editions have had different banners and some different stories on Page A1 and on a jump page.
Now, we are expanding each version to provide news that is distinctly Clallam County and that is distinctly Jefferson County.
We have more room for news in the editions of both counties.
We are growing the news team in East Jefferson County. Joining reporter Jeannie McMacken at the PDN’s Port Townsend office is Brian McLean, managing editor for Jefferson County.
McLean led the Peninsula Gateway of Gig Harbor and The Puyallup Herald as managing editor and publisher.
Before that he worked as a sports reporter at The Olympian and the Peninsula Gateway. During his high school years, he worked part-time in sports at the PDN in Port Angeles.
His latest job was a brief stint at The Port Townsend Leader.
To facilitate coverage expansion, we have added a Facebook page specifically for Jefferson County news.
Online readers still get news of both counties on the PDN website at PeninsulaDailyNews.com and the older PDN Facebook page.
