TACOMA — The state Citizens’ Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials has voted to freeze pay the next two years.
The commission voted Tuesday in Tacoma to maintain the current pay schedule for 479 state lawmakers, judges and statewide elected officials.
The vote follows a commission recommendation in January. Three public hearings didn’t change its mind.
The vote mirrors the Legislature’s decision not to provide cost-of-living increases to state and school employees.
The annual salary for the governor remains $166,891, for a state Supreme Court justice $164,221, and for a state lawmaker $42,106.
