Paving projects set Monday in downtown Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — Two paving projects will disrupt traffic at construction sites in Port Townsend on Monday.

Lakeside Industries, Inc., will pave at the intersection of Harrison and Washington streets from 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. as part of the U.S. Post Office curb extension project.

Washington Street will be open to traffic as flaggers will help alternate in one lane, project manager Laura Parsons said.

Harrison Street will be closed at the post office driveway from 8 a.m. until about noon, she said.

All sidewalks will be open.

Meanwhile, a Lakeside Industries will work on a second project at the intersection of Adams and Washington streets.

The paving, which is part of the curb ramps project, will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Port Townsend.

Washington Street will be open for two-way traffic, said Parsons, a civil engineer for the city of Port Townsend.

Adams Street will be open with one lane, and all sidewalks will be open, Parsons said.

Both projects are funded with separate $250,000 Complete Streets grants from the state Transportation Improvement Board, according to city documents.
