PASD narrows search for superintendent to 3

Board expects to select finalist in executive session Saturday

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District board of directors selected three finalists in their search to replace Superintendent Marty Brewer, who is stepping down at the end of August after 36 years in public education, the last seven in Port Angeles.

The finalists were chosen in a Feb. 22 special meeting from a pool of five candidates who were interviewed by Zoom. They were invited to Port Angeles for in-person interviews scheduled today and Friday.

The board plans to make its decision in an executive session on Saturday and start contract negotiations on Tuesday, with an announcement made shortly afterward.

The board is maintaining the confidentiality of candidates throughout the hiring process; the name of the new superintendent will not be released until after contract negotiations have concluded.

Information about the superintendent search can be found on the district’s website, tinyurl.com/3md5bdw4.

The board will meet tonight at 5 at Lincoln Center, 905 W. Ninth St., room 208.
