PORT ANGELES – Owners of 30,000 homes and businesses in Clallam County soon will receive change of value notices from Assessor Pam Rushton.
Most of them – about 21,000 – will be mailed today to property owners in the county’s East End.
Another 7,400 will go to owners in the city of Port Angeles.
The latter group will receive valuations based on physical inspections of the properties and recent sales information.
The last physical revaluation was in 2001.
One-sixth of properties across Clallam County are inspected each year.
Nearly 2,200 more notices will be mailed to owners of newly constructed homes and businesses.
Some owners may receive more than one change of value notice if their properties were reassessed in a revaluation process and they also have new construction.
The state Department of Revenue requires that multiple valuation processes are kept separate.
