PORT ANGELES — The 16-deck Ovation of the Seas cruise ship will be seen coming in and out of the Port Angeles Harbor for some time.
It is wintering in the Puget Sound area, circling around among different anchorages while it awaits its Alaskan season.
Generally this time of year, it would be homeported in Australia to conduct cruises from there, but Australia banned international cruise ships from entering its waters in March 2020 because of COVID-19 pandemic.
No passengers are aboard. It is carrying only crew members.
The ship, which is owned by Royal Caribbean, can carry up to 4,905 passengers and some 1,300 crew members.
It usually homeports in Seattle and Sydney, Australia, and cruises Alaska and Australia.
