Here are a sampling of outdoor events slated for Tuesday:
— A New Year’s Day walk in Sequim, hosted by the Olympic Peninsula Explorers Volkssport Club.
Participants will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Sequim QFC parking lot, 990 E. Washington St., to form carpools and drive to Railroad Bridge Park.
The walk will be along the Olympic Discovery Trail from Railroad Bridge to Robin Hill Farm County Park.
Participants can choose from a 3.1-mile or 7.45-mile walk.

— An inaugural New Year’s Discovery 10K Run/Walk from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Port Townsend.
Racers will take the cart paths at Discovery Bay Golf Course and the newest section of the Larry Scott Trail near Port Townsend, which is the eastern terminus of the Olympic Discovery Trail.
Beanies will be provided to the first 200 entrants, while Olympic Discovery Trail pins to the first 300 racers.
Place prizes or door prizes include a round of golf at the Discovery Bay Golf Course, Winter Wanderlust travelogue show series tickets and Rose Theatre movie tickets.
The entry fee, if paid in advance, is $20 with a beanie or $15 without.
Race-day registration will be $25 with a beanie and $20 without.

— The annual New Year’s Day Teddy Bear Hike at Fort Townsend State Park.
Participants can bring their teddy bears as they meet in the main parking lot of the park at 10 a.m.
The walk, along Fort Townsend’s trails will be 2 to 3 miles, depending on weather and the pace of participants.
