Pack up a picnic dinner, grab your lawn chair or a blanket — and don’t forget your sunglasses if it isn’t cloudy — and head to free and family-friendly outdoor concerts in Jefferson and Clallam counties this week.
Here’s the schedule:
Sequim
Today, 3 p.m. — The Sequim City Band continues its once-a-month performances in the James Center for the Performing Arts amphitheater at 563 N. Rhodefer Road, next to Carrie Blake Park.
Music today will include “The Armed Forces Salute”; “Country Gardens,” an English Morris dance tune; and selections from “Kiss Me Kate” by Cole Porter.
Olympic Winds, the clarinet section of the Sequim City Band, will perform separately at 2 p.m.
Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. — The Late Bloomers (acoustic folk rock).
This is part of the city of Sequim’s Music and a Movie in the Park series every Tuesday at the outdoor James Center for the Performing Arts amphitheater through Aug. 31.
(A movie, the family comedy, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” will be shown Aug. 3)
Next concert: Stardust Big Band on July 27.
Port Angeles
Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. — Olympic Express Big Band.
This is part of the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Concert on the Pier series.
Concerts are every Wednesday through Sept. 8 at City Pier.
Vendors sell food.
City Pier is a no-smoking, alcohol-free environment.
Some chairs are available for the disabled and early arrivals.
Next concert: Deadwood Revival (bluegrass) on July 28.
Port Townsend
Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. — A Battle of the Bands competition will be held.
This is part of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce’s summer Concert on the Dock series every Thursday through Sept. 2 at the end of Water Street across from the Northwest Maritime Center (431 Water St.).
Next concert: Deadwood Revival (bluegrass) on July 29.
