PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Healthcare hospital will show off its renovated surgery and endoscopy center from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Thursday.
The public is invited to tour the facilities at 1010 Sheridan St., Suite 201, next door to the hospital.
Visitors to the open house also can meet the surgery team of Dr. Jay Lawrence, chief surgeon, and general surgeons Drs. Mitra Jafari and Don George.
Jefferson Healthcare Surgical Associates, formerly Port Townsend Surgical Associates, became part of Jefferson Healthcare as Jefferson Healthcare Surgery and Endoscopy Center on April 7.
Renovations of the facility include new furnishings and carpet.
In the outpatient surgical area, a new exam table, recovery chair and medical equipment have been added.
Structural upgrades
The office building also had some structural improvements that included an upgrade in the HVAC system along with new signage.
“The acquisition is a win-win for Jefferson County residents,” said Kate Burke, marketing manager.
“The patients receiving care will benefit from streamlined access to both the surgery and endoscopy center and Jefferson Healthcare hospital for procedures.”
Referrals for follow-up care or to see another specialist at Jefferson Healthcare will be “seamless,” she said.
Patients will be integrated into Epic, Jefferson Healthcare’s electronic health record system.
She also said office hours have been extended.
