FORKS — The Olympic Natural Resources Center in Forks will present an Evening Talk at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The talk will be in the Hemlock Forest Conference Room, 1455 S. Forks Ave., or on Zoom at https://washington.zoom.us/j/3834334539.
Each year, ONRC hosts a summer field internship for students interested in topics such as forestry, ecology, social science, and environmental policy. Interns spend nine weeks living and working on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula and participate in a wide range of forest ecology and management experiments.
This year, five University of Washington undergraduate students have spent their summer working on several projects including the Type 3 Watershed Experiment, the long-term ecosystem productivity study, and the ethnoforestry field trials, organizers said.
They will present evening talkd on their summer work, including details on each research site, the data collection process, and what they learned along the way.
ONRC Evening Talks is funded through the Rosmond Family Education Fund, an endowment that honors the contributions of Fred Rosmond and his family to forestry and the Forks community.
