OLYMPIA — Residents who are not registered voters in Washington but want to vote in the special election period ending Feb. 9 need to register soon.
Monday is the final day to register online at www.sos.wa.gov/elections/register.aspx or by mail.
It’s also the last day for voters who have changed an address or name to update existing registrations.
Residents can register in person until Feb. 1 at county auditor offices at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles, and the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Ballots will be mailed to residents Jan. 22. Those for military and overseas voters were mailed Friday.
In Clallam County, ballots will have three measures. None of the votes will be countywide.
They are:
■ A $54 million Sequim School District construction bond.
■ A four-year, $520,000 per year Crescent School District maintenance-and-operations levy.
■ A four-year $100,000 Crescent School District capital projects levy.
Six measures will be on Jefferson County ballots. None will be countywide.
They are:
■ A two-year Brinnon School District maintenance-and-operations levy.
■ A four-year Quilcene School District maintenance-and-operations levy.
■ A $40.5 million Port Townsend School District construction bond.
■ A $29.1 million Chimacum School District construction bond.
■ A $54 million Sequim School District construction bond.
■ A measure for $530,000 in general obligation bonds for Discovery Bay Volunteer Fire & Rescue to rebuild and equip a fire station.
Statewide, nearly 917,000 voters — 23 percent of the state’s registered voters — will receive a ballot for this election.
Of the 178 ballot measures throughout the state for the February election, 163 are for school levies. The others cover fire, park, hospital and port district measures.
