SEQUIM — One person was injured in a one-vehicle rollover wreck Saturday on U.S. Highway 101 at Taylor Cutoff Road, and charges that the driver was driving under the influence are pending, according to the State Patrol.
At 4:16 p.m. Saturday, a dark blue 1993 Ford Explorer driven by Adam M. Lauridsen, 25, of Port Angeles was heading northbound on Taylor Cutoff Road approaching Highway 101.
Lauridsen failed to stop for the stop sign at the highway and then attempted a right turn, according to State Patrol Trooper Keith Nestor.
He lost control, and the Ford rolled over, coming to rest on its wheels, Nestor said.
Passenger Jake A. Bonifazio, 20, of Sequim was injured in the wreck and transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.
He was treated and released.
Clallam County Fire District No. 3 and Olympic Ambulance responded at the scene.
U.S. Highway 101 was partially closed for three hours while State Patrol troopers investigated the wreck and the debris was removed.
Nestor listed the cause of the wreck as “driving under the influence.”
Troopers did not know whether either Lauridsen or Bonifazio was wearing a seatbelt.
