SEQUIM — The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society has declared its joint “Share the Love” event a success.
Twelve dogs and cats — for a total of 24 animals — were adopted out during the joint six-hour event with Koenig Subaru, which humane society board director Linda Crow deemed “the most successful one-day adoption event OPHS has ever had.”
The event was made possible by a $2,500 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The humane society also has upcoming events for those who are interested in helping the society’s efforts.
On Wednesday, Dec. 6, Harbinger Winery will unveil this year’s Menagerie red wine during an event at the winery, 2358 U.S. Highway 101, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The bottle’s label is dedicated to the society, according to a news release.
On Saturday, Dec. 16, the society will also have Santa available for a photo opportunity.
Owners and their animals can get their picture taken with St. Nicholas for $5.95 at Petco, 1205 W. Washington St., from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Proceeds from both events will benefit the humane society.
