PORT ANGELES — Olympic National Park is one of 20 contenders in an online best national park contest promoted by USA Today.
Voters have until July 14 to select their favorite national park in the 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest.

The top 10 national parks will be announced July 16.
The 20 nominees were chosen by a pair of experts who have been exploring the national park system since 1969 and penned a series of books about America’s greatest recreational spaces.
Here’s what David and Kay Scott said about Olympic National Park:
“A single day in Olympic National Park in Washington takes visitors to wild Pacific beaches, colorful tide pools, alpine glaciers, pristine rainforest — some of the oldest in the USA — and meadows covered in wildflowers.
“Since no roads divide the interior of the park, the natural habitats remain largely untouched and the ecosystem rich with life.”
The other nominees are Acadia, Big Bend, Bryce Canyon, Crater Lake, Death Valley, Everglades, Glacier Bay, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Lassen Volcanic, North Cascades, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, Shenandoah, Theodore Roosevelt, Yellowstone, Yosemite and Zion national parks and Blue Ridge Parkway.
Voters can cast a vote once a day.
