PORT ANGELES — Applications are due on Monday from those who seek to fill a vacated seat on the Olympic Medical Center commission.
The position is vacant due to the death of Commissioner John Miles, MD, on Feb. 25. The most qualified applicant will be appointed to serve until the next general election for the seat in November 2023.
Qualified applicants must live in Hospital District No. 3, which is roughly west of Lincoln Street in Port Angeles past the west side of Lake Crescent.
Voter precincts for Hospital District No. 3 include Port Angeles 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113; Black Diamond 208; Dry Creek 224; Elwha 230; Freshwater Bay 233; Joyce 241; Madison Creek 248; and Mount Angeles 250.

Minimum time requirements are two monthly board meetings, the first Wednesday of the month at 12:30 p.m., and the third Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. and any additional committee work as assigned.
Commissioners are responsible for governing Olympic Medical Center and its inpatient and outpatient services, as well as major divisions, including Olympic Medical Physicians and Olympic Medical Home Health.
